The Inspiration
Bar Lola draws its name from Lola Montez — the Irish actress and dancer from the 1800s known for her bold personality, independence, and dramatic presence. The concept draws inspiration from Spain’s iconic wine bars and France’s celebrated bistros, reimagined through a distinctly New York lens.
The Space
The 125-seat space spans two floors and features two full bars. An Art Nouveau–inspired main bar serves as the visual centerpiece, visible from both levels. The first-floor dining area extends to a mezzanine with banquette seating beneath a vibrant mural. The second floor offers sweeping views of the intricate bar below and provides access to an outdoor patio with a retractable roof for year-round enjoyment. Both floors offer beautifully appointed spaces available for dining, private events, and semi-private gatherings.
The Menus
The beverage program highlights inventive yet approachable cocktails alongside natural wines and a strong coffee program designed to transition seamlessly from day to night. Leading the kitchen is Executive Chef Hesh Darwish, whose menu of globally inspired, shareable dishes moves effortlessly from vibrant small plates to hearty mains, encouraging a relaxed, social style of dining.
